The Media School will provide you with either a desktop workstation or laptop. You may select either an Apple or Dell base-configured device, which will be fully funded by The Media School. If your needs exceed the base configuration, then a faculty research account will need to supplement the costs above the funding provided. Additional technology items, such as an external display and video and network adapters, must be funded in the same way.
The Media School provides networked printing to staff and faculty, with printers located throughout Franklin Hall and the Radio-Television Building (RTV). Because of a “green” philosophy — both environmental and fiscal — office printers will not be funded or supported.
Contact Dave Ernst, IT coordinator and systems administrator, (davernst@indiana.edu) to discuss office technology and the process for acquiring IT support.
Need help with hardware or software after your initial set up? Submit a help request or use the virtual walk-in support to access the support of the College of Arts + Sciences Information Technology Office (CITO).
University Information Technology Services (UITS) supplies hardware- and software-based IP telephony. Mike Gray, assistant director of facilities/building manager (kemgray@indiana.edu), 812-855-4835, will set up your phone.
