Please follow this check-list to make your departure stress-free.
Please follow this check-list to make your departure stress-free.
Begin by scheduling your move-out day with the director of human resources and employee experience, Rebecca Stanze. When your move-out date arrives, you will return all university keys, the laptop or computer purchased by The Media School for your use, and any other equipment or property purchased on your behalf by the school or using your research account.
Prior to moving out, please remove all personal items from your office, disposing of them as necessary. Large trash and recycling bins are available near all offices. Please plan to provide your own moving supplies (boxes, tape, etc.). Unless otherwise agreed upon, The Media School cannot ship or store office items on your behalf.
If you have materials that might be of interest to the University Archives, which collects items documenting Indiana University's origins and development and the activities and achievements of its officers, faculty, students and alumni, please contact the archivists of University Archives to schedule a consultation regarding your material.
There is a locked shred box located in the Franklin Hall mailroom and the RTV supply/printer room (RTV 339). Please dispose of all paper containing sensitive information in one of these locations.
Faculty book collections may be of interest to students and other Media School employees. You can make books available by placing them in the Franklin Hall commons or outside your office with a “Free” sign. However, you must dispose of any materials not taken by others prior to your move-out date. Books may be donated to local organizations such as the Monroe County Public Library Friends of the Library Bookstore or the Hoosier Hills Food Bank Book Sale.
If you need assistance removing files from your computer or your university storage accounts, please submit a CITRIS/UITS ticket well in advance of moving day. Providing your devices serial number or IU service tag number can sometimes speed the process along. By turning in your computer, you are authorizing UITS to wipe the hard drive clean of all files.
If you are storing Media School administrative files on OneDrive or Teams associated with your individual IU account, please make sure those are transferred to an institutional storage location that ensures records can be accessed in the future. A CITRIS/UITS ticket can help with that process.
We want you to know you're a valued member of our community at The Media School. For us to honor your dedication to uplifting the media world, please be sure to read through additional resources.
