The delivered file needs to be 1920x1080 at 24 or 30 progressive fps. The preferred codec is H.264.
For videos exported/transcoded using Adobe products, please choose H.264 as the format and YouTube 1080P HD as the preset.
For videos exported using FCPX, choose Share > Master File. On the settings tab, change the video codec to H.264. Click "Next," then "Save."
Audio levels should follow a few basic guidelines to create a seamless experience for people watching (and hearing) the showcase playlist. Based on dBFS commonly used in NLE software, audio levels should:
- Peak at -6 dB. Files with clipped/distorted audio will not be accepted.
- Average between -9 and -15 dB for dialogue. However, story requirements may dictate that dialogue fall below this range.
Audio that is below -24 dB may be difficult to hear.
Projects must contain credits for cast and crew. Including a title is preferred, but not necessary.
The Student Showcase is shown in a public space, and the potential audience may include tours, guests, prospective students and parents, etc. Since this is not a private or closed-door screening, please keep in mind that submitted projects may not receive final approval for being included in the playlist.
